The Arts Partnership Awards NDHRFF18 a City Art Partnership Grant.

The Arts Partnership has awarded the 2018 North Dakota Human Rights Arts Festival a City Arts Partnership (CAP) Grant. CAP Grants support non-profit arts and culture organizations and other non-profits proposing arts projects in the Metro area. The CAP program is funded by the cities of Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo. Sanford Health provides Sanford Arts Partnership Merit Awards, given to organizations doing exemplary work in the arts and cultural arenas in our community.

The Human Family was one of 27 different non-profits benefiting from the City Arts Partnership Grant program. “We’re excited to have been selected as part of the program,” said Sean Coffman, Executive Director of the Human Family. “The arts play an important role in societal dialogues, and an exhibition such as this helps to bring attention to a number of different important conversations.”

In 2018, the North Dakota Human Rights Arts Festival will travel between Bismarck, Fargo and Grand Forks. The $1,000 CAP grant provided by the Arts Partnership will be used specifically for the Fargo exhibition dates of the festival.

Artist who have 2D, 3D or live performance works that relate to human rights or social justice are welcome to submit their work. The festival accepts works from all skill levels, including student, amateur and professional. To submit their work, artist should visit the online submission form. The festival will be curated, with equal concentration on human rights content and artistic merit.

The mission of the North Dakota Human Rights Film and Arts Festival is to educate, engage and facilitate discussion around local and worldwide human rights topics through the work of filmmakers and artists. The festival was founded and is managed by the non-profit The Human Family, an organization dedicated to promoting human rights and social justice through film and art. Support for the festival comes from: The Arts Partnership; Moorhead Massage and Wellness; and the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition.
