“Home.” Series Trailer Released
The Human Family is proud to premiere the trailer for the limited series, “Home. The Homelessness Crisis in North Dakota”.
The series premiere of “Home.” will take place at the The Fargo Theatreon Thursday, November 15 as part of the 2018 North Dakota Human Rights Film & Arts Festival. A panel discussion about homelessness in North Dakota moderated by Cody J. Schuler of the FM Coalition for Homeless Persons will take place following the screening.
The 2017 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Annual Homelessness Assessment Report attributes the largest percentage increase in homelessness in the United States to North Dakota – a 26% increase between 2016 and 2017. Over 58% of the people experiencing homelessness without shelter were families with children, the highest rate in the country.
“Home.” is a limit-series documenting the homelessness crisis in North Dakota. Understanding housing as a human right and as an inherent need to the health and happiness of all persons, the documentary will examine the myths of homelessness, its causes and identify the state-wide organizations and individuals currently engaged in the fight to end homelessness in North Dakota.
The premiere is supported in part by a grant from the Humanities North Dakota. Additional screenings for the premiere of “Home.” are being scheduled throughout the state.
