Whispers of pride from the plains.

In 2017, for the fourth time in five sessions, the North Dakota Legislature failed to pass legislation prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation.

The basis of the Legislature’s refusal to provide discrimination protections for the LGBTQ communities  lies predominately in the belief that those protections are not needed, and LGBTQ discrimination does not exist or occur in North Dakota.

Dakota Prairies is an innovative theatrical production depicting the silent whispers of pride from North Dakota.

Documenting the real world experiences of discrimination and victims of hate in North Dakota, the production will provide a voice to those individuals from the LGBTQ communities that have kept their experiences hidden for fear of further discrimination or retaliation. Through these stories, the theatrical production will demonstrate the need for protections inside of North Dakota.

We invite you to share your story of living in North Dakota as a member of the LGBTQ community.

Have you made incredible friendships or found love?

Have you been the victim of discrimination?

Have you been the victim of a hate crime?

Share your story anonymously or by name with us, and we’ll work to include it as a part of this ground-breaking theatrical event. If you’d like, we would be happy to even meet in person to hear your story.
