Fargo Screening: Chapter One of “Home. The Homelessness Crisis in North Dakota”

Join The Human Family and Fargo Housing & Redevelopment Authority at the Fargo Theatre on Tuesday, April 2nd for a screening of “Home. The Homelessness Crisis in North Dakota”. Doors will open at 6:30 PM, the screening will begin at 7:00 PM, and a panel discussion will follow. This event is open to the public.
The 2017 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Annual Homelessness Assessment Report attributes the largest percentage increase in homelessness in the United States to North Dakota – a 26% increase between 2016 and 2017. North Dakota also currently has the highest percentage of unsheltered families with children in the Nation.
“Home.” is a 12-part documentary series focusing on the homelessness crisis in North Dakota. Demonstrating housing as a human right and as an inherent part of the health and happiness of all persons, the documentary examines the myths of homelessness, its root causes, and identifies the state-wide organizations and individuals currently engaged in the fight to end homelessness in North Dakota.
A panel discussion will follow the screening, featuring community leaders and experts on homelessness in Fargo Moorhead.
This event is open to the public, with the opportunity to make a free-will donation. Proceeds will benefit the local filmmakers to assist them in continuing the series.
