Fargo Housing Authority to host screening of “Home.”
The Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority, in partnership with The Human Family, is hosting a film screening Chapter One of “Home: The Homelessness Crisis in North Dakota“.
“Home.” is a 12-part documentary series focusing on the homelessness crisis in North Dakota. Demonstrating housing as a human right and as an inherent part of the health and happiness of all persons, the documentary examines the myths of homelessness, its root causes, and identifies the state-wide organizations and individuals currently engaged in the fight to end homelessness in North Dakota.

A panel discussion will follow the screening, featuring community leaders and experts on homelessness in Fargo Moorhead.
Matthew Pike, Executive Director/CEO of Fargo Housing and Redevelopment Authority, will serve as moderator. Panelists include:
• Sonya Jensen, The Human Family, Director of “Home.”
• Jillian Gould, Gladys Ray Shelter & Veteran’s Drop-In Center
• Barry Nelson, North Dakota Human Rights Coalition
• Cody Schuler, FM Coalition to End Homelessness
• Pastor Sue Kosterman, Churches United for the Homeless
The conversation will be guided by the following broad themes:
- The story behind the film-making and production journey
- How the portrayal of homelessness in the film reflects our community’s current landscape
- The evolution of housing issues your organizations have faced, and those you continue to confront
- Distinctly and collaboratively meeting the community challenges of the future
This event is free of charge and open to all. Doors will open at 6:30 PM.
