Support the efforts of the FM LGBT Film Festival to bring current and relevant queer film to our northern community by joining us for an intimate evening with award-winning filmmaker, Faraz Arif Ansari.
Faraz will be joining the FM LGBT Film Festival from Mumbai, India as part of the final series of festival runs for his film, SISAK. Setting a milestone for Indian cinema, SISAK became the first Indian film to win 59 international awards. SISAK is also the first-of-its-kind silent LGBTQ+ film in India.

In 2017, the FM LGBT Film Festival Jury recognized SISAK as the Best Narrative Short film in the festival.
As part of the evening, a special screening of the 15-minute narrative-short will take place followed by a discussion with Faraz about the film and about the importance of creating socially and politically aware films. Faraz will also share about the challenges that still exist for LGBTQ+ communities in India despite the recent legalization of consensual same-sex relationships in the Country. A special preview of Faraz’s current works will conclude the evening.
