FARGO — The Plains Art Museum’s newest exhibition features artwork about recent human rights topics from around the world.
Most of the artwork featured in the North Dakota Human Rights Festival is from local or regional artists. Each piece shows the artist’s perception of human rights topics that have happened in the last year. The exhibit includes artwork about the pandemic, protests, domestic violence and more.
The exhibition will travel throughout different areas of North Dakota, and it will be in Fargo until the end of January.
“What makes this year really unique is that the artists, as with all of us, we’ve all had to shelter in place in our homes in the last year because of the pandemic,” said Joseph Williams, Education Director at the Plains Art Museum. “I think it’s given them a lot of time to reflect on what’s import and what’s really been impacting them.”
The Plains Art Museum is free to the public.
