Community Conversations

Discussions about the homelessness crisis in communities throughout North Dakota have been held across the state following screenings of Home: The Homelessness Crisis in North Dakota

Home is presented by the Consensus Council, the Fargo-Moorhead Coalition to End Homelessness and Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota, and made possible by Bell Bank, Family Health Care, the Fargo Housing & Redevelopment Authority and the North Dakota Human Rights Coalition.

Chapter 1

The Myths of Homelessness and the Human Right to Housing

 

The first chapter of the series examines the homelessness crisis in North Dakota, focusing on the myths, the individuals impacted, the causes and the community response to the epidemic.

Chapter 2

Bootstraps, Blizzards and Black Gold

 

The second chapter of the series examines North Dakota’s bootstrap mentality, dangerous weather systems and the impact of the oil industry in Western North Dakota.
